چکیده

This study deals with the frictional power of each moving part in hydrogen fueled multi-cylinder spark ignition engine. The parts such as piston, rings, bearings, cam, and roller follower are considered for this study. engine was run at a constant speed 1500 rpm different loads. indicated is calculated using in-cylinder pressure data, brake measured respect to component calcu-lated models available literature. constants calibrated input experimental data. components increases an increase engine’s load. friction between piston ring liner highest among other components’ due mainly gas (in rings) acting on being highest. percentages output 15.1 kW 30.8% (friction rings pressure), 18.4% (piston skirt), 13.4 % (bearings), 8.5 (cam), 6.9 tension) applied load kW. results could be useful find avenues reducing enhance fuel economy endurance life engines.

Cylinder Pressure in a Spark - Ignition Engine : A Computational Model

an s-curve to describe the gradual transition between exhaust pressure and intake or inlet pressure. The start of compression, which marks the end of the intake process, does not necessarily occur at the same time as the close of the intake valve (IVC). The intake valve closes after bottom center (BC) while the volume in the cylinder is decreasing. The engine speed determines the point at which...

Improved efficiency of CNG using hydrogen in spark ignition engine

Experimental investigations carried out on a single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycle spark ignition engine operating on gasoline and natural gas are reported in the present paper when compressed natural gas (CNG) and hydrogen were used as fuel. The investigations were carried out by mixing a small percentage of hydrogen (5 to 30%) with CNG and supplied to the engine. Hydrogen and CNG were mixed ...

Performance and Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engine Fuelled with Ethanol and Methanol Gasoline Blended Fuels

Depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution has led researchers to anticipate the need to develop bio-fuels. Alcohols are an important category of bio-fuels. Methanol can be produced from coal, biomass or even natural gas with acceptable energy cost. Also, gasification of biomass can lead to methanol, mixed alcohols, and Fischer–Tropsch liquids (Chum and Overend, 2001). Ethanol is pro...
